Musée de l'Armée

Paris, France

The Musée de l'Armée is located within the grand Invalides complex in Paris. This museum tells the story of the French Army through many different eras. Visitors can also see the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte, which is found in the same complex and included with the price of admission.

Exhibits and Displays

Inside the museum, most exhibitions reflect a traditional style, giving a sense of history, but sometimes feel a little dated. The displays include uniforms, weapons, and a wide range of military artifacts. However, some guests might notice that there is not as much information about the First World War as expected, with only a small section dedicated to this period.

The Musée des Plans-Reliefs

One of the museum's most fascinating features is the Musée des Plans-Reliefs. This part of the museum contains detailed scale models of French fortresses. These models are carefully crafted to show every detail of the real structures. The Musée des Plans-Reliefs also has its own shop, offering unique souvenirs related to the historical models on display.
