Musée Pasteur

Paris, France

The Pasteur Museum is located in the very apartment where Louis Pasteur, the renowned scientist, lived during the final seven years of his life. The rooms remain much as they were in his time, providing a glimpse into his personal world. Visitors can see a collection of personal memorabilia and many of the scientific instruments that Pasteur used in his research.

A Unique Resting Place

Within the grounds of the museum stands Pasteur’s mausoleum. This striking structure is decorated with elaborate mosaics and serves as the final resting place of the scientist. The mausoleum’s design reflects the significance of Pasteur’s contributions and offers a solemn atmosphere for reflection.

Recent Closures

After the events of November 13, 2015, when Paris experienced terrorist attacks, the Pasteur Museum was closed to individual visitors as a security measure. Since then, access to the museum has been restricted, impacting the usual flow of tourists and science enthusiasts.
