Windmill

Berlin, Germany

One of the few windmills still standing in Berlin rises above the village green of Marzahn. This historic mill offers a close look at traditional milling, with its sails and gears preserved to show how grain was once turned into flour. Visits are possible after registration, allowing time to see the interior and learn about the mill’s working parts.

Getting there

Reaching the windmill is straightforward on public transport. Take the S7 or S75 to Springpfuhl station. From there, continue with tram line 8 or M18 and get off at Alt-Marzahn. The mill is a short walk from the stop, set among old farmhouses and cobbled paths that recall the area’s village past.
